For everyday people in Australia, the US and the UK
You live your life. We turn the moments you capture into content.
Send us original videos from your phone: home cooking, days out, calm little moments. GEM edits them, publishes them on our channels across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest, and you earn a share of the revenue each video makes.
Your side hustle, on your terms: film whenever you like, wherever you are, for as long as you like.
Little moments, gently shared.
Why GEM
Earning from your own channel is hard. It doesn't have to be.
Going it alone
- YouTube only pays after 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours (8,000 for new applicants from February 2027), which can take years.
- Separate accounts, logins, profiles and settings on every platform.
- Editing, captions, thumbnails and uploading every single video yourself.
- Tax forms, AdSense, policies and strikes to keep on top of.
With GEM
- Sign up with your Gmail in about two minutes and sign one simple agreement online.
- Upload your original footage straight from your phone or computer.
- We edit, add captions and music, publish and cross-post to our channels.
- Watch views and your share update on your own dashboard.
How it works
Four simple steps
Sign up
Use your Google account or email. Add your details and accept the creator agreement online, with a typed signature.
Film and upload
Shoot real, original moments on your phone. Upload the video files (and a consent form if anyone else is in them).
We publish
Our team reviews, edits and publishes the best videos on GEM channels across YouTube and social platforms.
You earn
Every published video shows its views and your share on your dashboard, refreshed several times a day.
Not an influencer? Perfect.
Millions of people capture great real-life moments. They just don't want to be influencers.
You don't need to show your face, grow an audience or post every day. You film what's already happening in your life. We do the rest.
With GEM you don't need
- Followers or subscribers
- A personal brand or your face on camera
- Sponsorship deals
- A posting schedule
- To chase the algorithm
- Editing skills or software

Before work, on weekends, at midnight. There are no shifts, deadlines or quotas.
Anywhere
Your kitchen, the beach, a weekend away. If you can film it on your phone, you can send it.
As much as you like
One video a month or ten a week. Take a break whenever you want; your published videos keep working.
No cost to you
Joining and uploading are free. No equipment to buy, no channel to grow, no ads to run.
So what are you waiting for? Jump on board and start building your GEM side hustle today.
Start earning with GEMYour earnings
Keep 70%. Grow to 90%.
For each published video made with your footage you earn a share of the revenue GEM receives from it. For the first 24 months your share starts at 70% each month and rises automatically, up to 90%, as your earnings that month grow. After that you keep a 20% royalty for as long as the video earns. Free to join; a 5% admin fee is deducted from each payment you receive.
Your GEM earnings, by creator level
Counted on what you earn in each calendar month; every band is paid at its own rate, like tax brackets.
- Live dashboard: views, estimated earnings and payments per video.
- Get paid weekly or monthly, your choice, whenever you have $50 or more available.
- Bank transfer (Australian or international), PayPal or Wise, plus a statement every quarter.
- A leaderboard of this week's and this month's top videos and creators.
- Your share keeps paying even if you stop filming, and the royalty never runs out.
- Extra ways to earn: paid brand briefs and footage licensing.
How payment works (please read)
Earnings come from ad and platform revenue, so they depend entirely on how many people watch. Some videos earn a lot, many earn little, and some earn nothing.
Revenue is only paid out once the GEM channel the video is on has been accepted into the YouTube Partner Program and the platform has actually paid GEM. Until then your dashboard shows your views and clearly marks the channel as not monetised yet, and earnings start from the day it is. For every video you can see the platform revenue, what GEM has received, your share and what's payable to you.
Not every submission is published. Figures shown are estimates from YouTube, which updates its data roughly once a day; final amounts are confirmed on your quarterly statement. Each month's earnings become available to pay once YouTube has paid GEM for that month (around the 25th of the following month).

More ways to earn
Not just YouTube ads
GEM is building the marketplace for authentic everyday footage, so your videos can earn from more than one place.
📺 Platform revenue
Ad and creator revenue from YouTube, and from TikTok, Meta and Pinterest where available.
📋 Paid brand briefs
Brands ask for things like "20 real Sydney beach clips" or "30 home cooking videos". Film for a brief and get a set fee for every clip accepted.
🎞️ Footage licensing
Media companies, tourism boards, agencies and publishers license authentic footage. You earn 50% of every licence fee for your clips.
What we're looking for
Real, gentle, original moments
Great submissions
- Home cooking: family recipes, Nepali and everyday favourites, step-by-step.
- Days out: beaches, parks, markets, bushwalks, around Sydney and beyond.
- Calm moments: rain, sunsets, tea pouring, cosy everyday scenes.
- Steady 4K or 1080p footage, landscape for long videos plus a few vertical clips.
We can't accept
- Anything you didn't film yourself, or AI-generated "real-looking" footage.
- Copyrighted music playing in the background.
- Children's faces, names or schools without written approval.
- Recognisable people without a signed consent form.
FAQ
Questions creators ask
Do I need my own YouTube channel?
No. Your videos are published on GEM's channels, so you don't need subscribers, a channel or any platform accounts.
What do I need to join?
A Google (Gmail) account or an email address, to be 18 or older, and to be able to film original footage. Australian creators also need an ABN before their first payment (it's free at abr.gov.au).
How much can I earn?
It depends on how many people watch each video, so we can't promise an amount. Your share starts at 70% of the revenue GEM receives from each published video, for 24 months, and climbs automatically up to 90% as your earnings in each month grow. You can see every video's numbers, and your current rate, on your dashboard.
When do I get paid?
You choose: weekly (every Friday) or monthly (on the 28th). On your payment day we pay your whole available balance once it's $50 or more (less the 5% admin fee), by bank transfer (Australian or international SWIFT), PayPal or Wise; smaller amounts roll over to the next payment day. Earnings become available once the channel your video is on is monetised and YouTube has paid GEM for that month (around the 25th of the following month). You also get a statement every quarter.
How does my share go up?
Like tax brackets, but in your favour, counted each calendar month. Your first earnings each month are paid at 70%; once your earnings that month pass each threshold, everything above it is paid at the next, higher rate, up to 90% once you earn $10,000 or more in the month. Moving up never reduces what you've already earned, it happens automatically, and the count starts again on the 1st. The full table is in the creator agreement and on your dashboard.
Are there any fees?
Joining, uploading and using the app are free. When we pay you, a 5% admin fee is deducted from that payment to cover processing; for example, $100 paid out means $95 lands in your account. Every payment's fee is shown on your dashboard and statement.
What do I give up?
There's no upfront cost, and you don't need to buy anything. You only earn when your content earns. What you do give: your time filming, and ownership of the footage we accept. Once a clip is accepted, GEM owns it so we can edit, publish and license it, and you earn your share from it. Footage we don't accept stays yours. The full terms are in the creator agreement.
What happens after 24 months?
For the first 24 months after a video is published you earn the full tiered share (70% to 90%). After that you keep a 20% royalty on that video's revenue for as long as GEM earns from it, even if you've stopped filming.
What are creator levels and achievements?
Each month you climb from New Creator (70%) to GEM Superstar (90%) as your earnings that month grow, and the climb starts again on the 1st. Along the way you unlock achievements like your first published video, first 10K views and your first viral video.
What if one of my videos goes viral?
Then you share in it. You earn a share of the revenue GEM receives from that video for 24 months, and the more you earn in a month, the higher your rate climbs that month (up to 90%), so a popular video can keep paying you more month after month while people keep watching. You'll see it climb on your dashboard and maybe on the leaderboard too.
How much time do I have to commit?
None that's fixed. Film whenever you want, wherever you want, for as long as you want. There are no quotas or deadlines, and you can take a break any time.
What is the leaderboard?
Inside the app you can see the top videos and the GEM Superstar (the creator who earned the most) for this week, this month and last month. It shows first names and last initials, and you can hide your name in your profile.
Who owns the footage?
Once you submit and we accept it, GEM owns the footage so we can edit and publish it anywhere. You can still show published GEM videos in your portfolio. Read the full creator agreement.
How "real-time" is the dashboard?
We refresh it from YouTube several times a day. YouTube's own analytics usually run a day or two behind, so today's views appear within about 48 hours.
Can I leave?
Yes, any time with 14 days' notice. Your share on videos already published keeps being paid for the rest of their 24 months.
You live your life. We'll do the rest.
